The Olympic flag: The flag of the Olympic Games has five interlocking rings (blue, yellow, black, green and red) on white background. The rings represent the five parts of the world who joined in the Olympic movement: Africa, America, Asia, Australia and Europe. Pierre de Fredy, Baron de Coubertin (1863-1937), educator and French sportsman, revived the Olympics in 1896, the man of all 1896 Games were held in Athens, Greece. Baron de Coubertin designed the flag Olympic Games in 1913-1914. The Olympic flag was first used in 1920 Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium. The Olympic flag was passed during the opening ceremony of each Olympic Games. At the final of the Olympic Games, the mayor of the host city presents the flag to the mayor of the next host city. The flag will remain at City Hall the next host city until the next Olympics, four years later.
