Ever wondered how the inspiration for these white POW MIA flags and black origin? I found the story behind these flags to be very interesting also symbolizes a powerful message. This marks the figure of a whole head down against a guard tower with a single strand of barbed wire is a symbol national and a challenge to our country to never forget our prisoners and missing soldiers fighting for our country.

The POW-MIA flags at home was in 1971 at the height of the Vietnam War. Ms. Mary Huff, an MIA wife and member of the National League of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia, he felt a strong need to create a flag to muster more attention to their cause. He turned the manufacturer of the largest flag, Annin & Co., which hired with graphic designer Newt Heisley. The work was so Heisley son Jeffrey went home sick after Navy training at Quantico, Virginia. Jeffrey aspect emaciated became the inspiration for the silhouette.

Heisley, a veteran of World War II who flew missions in the Pacific, he realized how easy it is to forget our soldiers.
