What does it mean when Bunting black and purple in a fire station, but the flag is at half mast?

My mom and I spent a fire station today in the Latin flag was in its normal position, but it was black and purple mourning bunting hanging from the doors. I always thought that Bunting black and purple in a fire station means that a firefighter had died recently, and it always was, along with the flag flying at half mast. Does anyone know if there is a specific meaning to the clerk, but not the means personal flag?

I think it is correct to assume the clerk must be passed to a firefighter. The flag is reduced to be a proclamation of the governor of this state or the U.S. president. I'm not sure if a mayor can order or not. However, a fire station can not take on themselves.
